Fresh vs. Frozen vs. Canned
Fresh veggies are normally picked before they reach their most nutrient state and before they are ripe. Additionally in the shipping process they are exposed to many different elements that also affect the amount of nutrients they contain. However when 'in season', vegetables bought fresh are a great way to go. In addition to being nutritious they are reasonably priced. An obvious down side to fresh is I find myself wasting a lot more food. Fresh vegetables tend to go bad a lot quicker than canned or frozen vegetables and I end up throwing away more food than I care to note.
It's also important to make a point that the preparation of the vegetable once you get it home is also very important. Many people tend to over cook their veggies or add a lot of unhealthy things to them when they cook. When you do that, it doesn't matter if you bought them canned, frozen, or fresh, you are greatly depleting if not eliminating their nutritional value. So be careful and consious of that when you're cooking.
So, vegetables bought in any way is better than not buying them at all, but giving a little thought into how they were preserved, frozen, or shipped can help us all make healthier choices.
This is something I've wondered about so I decided to do a little research. Which is better? Well, the answer, I've found, really depends on many variables. There are pros to all three.
Let's look at canned vegetables. During preservation, canned veggies tend to lose some if its nutrients. But, many of us are forced to buy canned veggies when certain vegetables are out of season and prices for those 'out of season' fresh veggies are more expensive. An obvious pro to choosing canned vegetables is they have a long shelf life.
Frozen is a nice alternative to canned vegetables. Typically vegetables are frozen when they are at their nutritious peak. When buying those 'out of season' vegetables, frozen is a great way to go & depending on many factors can be better than even going fresh.
Larry motivates me to push past my perceived limits and has the ability to keep the workouts challenging, creative and even fun! I highly recommend him as a personal trainer.

Larry has me doing exercises I normally would not volunteer for, and he constantly varies them so they are never boring. I am starting to build muscle and lose fat. The best thing I ever did was to get started with a Personal Trainer. I am fortunate to have found a really good one. Thanks, Larry!
~Ernie M
I had to interview 9 different trainers before I found Larry. Thank God I found him. I appreciate his encouragement. I have only high praise and would highly recommend Larry to anyone seeking an excellent personal trainer.

Working out with Larry has changed my life! Besides the weight loss, I'm also stronger, my cholesterol is the lowest ever, and my doctor has told me I might be able to soon get off blood pressure medication. He pushes me hard, but he doesn't kill me.

Over the last few months, I've noticed a huge difference in the way my clothes fit and the amount of physical activity I can do. I was very excited to notice that I'm a size smaller than when I started!

Trainer Speaks...
Q: Should I do weight training everyday?
A: No. You sould not weight train everyday. Your muscles need time to rest, repair, and recover. If you do not allow your muscles to do this, they won't grow and you can't get stronger. You should allow at least 48hours in between weight training. Just like your body needs rest to recover from a long day of work, your muscles need time to rest as well.
